SuperOffice carries out leadership succession

CRM software provider SuperOffice implements a leadership succession by appointing Lars Engbork as new Group CEO. He will be taking over the reins from Gisle Jentoft who in his 18 years in the role has led the Norway-based company through an impressive growth journey.

Following strong financial results, including an 18 percent topline growth in 2023, leading Nordic CRM software provider SuperOffice is getting ready for the next chapter of its growth journey. Gisle Jentoft, who has been the CEO of SuperOffice since 2005, hands over the baton to Lars Engbork, marking a new generation of leadership for the company. Engbork, former CEO of Danish SaaS software company Visma e-conomic, will step into his new position at SuperOffice on June 3rd.

“In recent years, we’ve expanded SuperOffice’s leadership team by welcoming new, talented individuals, each bringing fresh perspectives, and together we’ve achieved a lot. I’m proud of the team and organisation we’ve built and how we’ve accelerated the company’s growth, improved our ability to deliver value to our customers, and provided our colleagues with even more exciting opportunities to grow. We’ve been preparing for the succession in leadership for quite some time, and I’m happy and proud to now hand over the baton to Lars Engbork,” says Gisle Jentoft, the departing CEO of SuperOffice.

The change of Group CEO marks the start of building the next generation management team of the company. In addition to the CEO, the group management team also consists of Guttorm Nielsen (CPO), Ole Erlend Vormeland (CFO), Charlotte Adelgaard (CRO), Bettina Isabelle Berntsen (CMO), Camilla Heidenreich Bommen (CSO), Erlend Mohus (Director of Strategy) and Jessica Hartenberger (Head of People). Guttorm Nielsen and Ole Erlend Vormeland, with respectively 27 and 18 years in their roles, will stay in the company until the end of 2024 and will assist the new CEO in finding their successors. There are no other planned changes in the management team of the company.

New CEO combines tech and commercial expertise

The leadership succession at SuperOffice follows a period of strong momentum for the company. Since its partnership with private equity firm Axcel in 2020, the company has successfully migrated its software from on-premise to cloud, launched a new modular software suite and implemented a transformative, new go-to-market strategy.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to thank Gisle Jentoft for his dedication and significant contribution to SuperOffice throughout the years. Gisle has been instrumental to building a thriving company, a strong organisation and team culture, and at the same time finding and implementing new ways to drive growth. As Gisle steps down, we are very pleased to welcome Lars Engbork, who is one of the Nordic software industry’s biggest talents. With Lars’ impressive background in both tech and commercial leadership functions, I feel confident that he is the right person to lead SuperOffice through the next phase of its growth journey,” says Klaus Holse, Chairman of the Board of SuperOffice.

Lars Engbork previously served as the CEO of Visma e-conomic from 2020, having joined the company as CTO the year before. Prior to that, he was Nordic Innovation Director at Oracle and Vice President at SimCorp. Engbork, a Danish national, will be working out of the SuperOffice’s headquarters in Oslo.

“I’m thrilled to be taking on the role as CEO of SuperOffice, a company that I admire for its unique, innovative offering to its customers and its strong team spirit. I look forward to working together with the entire SuperOffice team, the board and Axcel to deliver on the ambition to become the leading northern European provider of CRM solutions,” says Lars Engbork.
